instead of applying for a specific archery unit, hunters may apply for an extended
archery only general-season buck deer permit to hunt on any of the extended archery
areas during the extended archery season dates. you can apply for this permit in the big
game application by selecting hunt number db0008. this permit will only be valid on the
extended archery units. see the table below for areas and season dates.
remember: the online archery ethics course is an annual requirement for all archers
who want to hunt the extended areas and seasons; this is also required for the extended
archery only draw permit. to take the course, visit wildlife.utah.gov/extendedarchery before
the extended seasons begin. after you successfully complete the course, you must carry
proof of completion (either print or digital) with you in the field.
to see maps and boundaries for all of the extended archery areas, visit hunt.utah.gov.
important: if you are hunting the extended archery season with your limited-entry
buck deer or bull elk permit, you are still required to submit your harvest survey within 30
days of the end of the season printed on your permit. (general-season buck deer and bull
